Live in the layers, not on the litter!

Updated: Jan 21

The older I get, the more I realize what really matters in life. One day it just clicks. It might take the death of a loved one or some other drastic or life changing event. But one day, you realize the mountains you are carrying, you were only supposed to be climbing. You stop forcing things, conversations, friendships, attention, love, because you learn that anything forced is not worth fighting for. Whatever flows flows, and whatever crashes crashes. You begin to stop putting a question mark where God has put a period!

One of our greatest mistakes in life is fearing that we will continually make one. The fear of failure keeps you from going out on a limb, even though that’s where all the fruit is. And it’s not about getting over something, it’s about getting through something. Different events create a new you. They change you, you will never be “the old you” again. And that’s not a bad thing. There’s nothing wrong with a harder shell if the heart stays soft and pure. Many people will do whatever they can, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing their own soul. So, you’re flawed, so what, I’m hugely flawed! So, you have scars, so what, scars tell stories, tattoos of triumph. A reminder when life tried to break you but failed. Scars are the welds that have built your character, but scars also show that your hurt is gone, and the wound has closed. Don’t let part-time problems take a full-time position in your life. And don’t be a prisoner of your past mistakes and live your life in fear or regret. A ship is always safe a shore but that’s not what ships are built for! The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It’s not your circumstances, it’s about what your made of. So, the next time life decides to throw you a curveball, change your “why me” to “try me
