FINISH THE DRILL!

Updated: Jan 21

What does commitment mean to you? Sometimes the definition doesn’t seem so clear. After all, some of our most honored commitments aren’t even kept anymore. It’s because we take for granted the word means the same thing to all of us. I can assure you, it doesn’t. Some believe commitment is synonymous with interest. But interest means doing something when it’s convenient while commitment means doing something until it’s done!

Commitment Is not a half in, half out, half ass, sorta, kinda, maybe answer. Commitment is a mindset that you carry with you every day, a pledge. It’s an intentional decision you make in advance to follow through on doing what you said you would do, long after the frame of mind you said it in has left, and continuing to put in the work even after you’re tired from putting in the work you already did, regardless of the circumstances. Commit to the process, not the outcome. You can’t conquer what you’re not committed to and you can’t make the promise but ignore the process.

We all struggle with motivation from time to time. And there will be times when you believe the time invested and the time of fulfillment is not worth the effort. But stay the course and you’ll eventually pass the tipping point when you’ve gone too far to turn back! So just make sure this is something you want because the easy way out will always be there, just waiting for you to quit. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, step by step, and with each step comes the decision to take another.

It’s your decision to either keep making false promises or stay disciplined and honor your commitment. Because there’s a big difference between the two, one makes you a boy and one makes you a man. A boy speaks, a man proves!
